Greater Manchester Training Partnership is a unique not for profit consortium operating as a social  enterprise by reinvesting and pooling finances to support the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care community.

We are committed to working in partnership with commissioners, providers, individuals and their families to achieve the aspirations of transforming health and social care for everyone.

Our mission is to deliver information, training and support to providers of services, so they are better able to meet the needs of people with learning disabilities, autism or both.

Why set up a Greater Manchester Joint Training Partnership?

The ambition for Greater Manchester is to provide high quality services for its citizens. One of the ways to ensure that Greater Manchester is providing high quality support to people with learning disabilities, autism or both is by ensuring that care professionals, individuals and families have access to quality training. In order to facilitate this we have established the Greater Manchester Joint Training Partnership.

Greater Manchester Joint Training Partnership is a partnership between Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Professionals, the North West Training and Development Team, self-advocates and their families living in the Greater Manchester area.

All training is subsidised by and linked to the Greater Manchester Transforming Care Partnership and its developments including the Greater Manchester Flexible Purchasing System.

What we can offer

  • A coordinated, varied and cost-effective programme of high quality training delivered across a variety of accessible venues in Greater Manchester, providing you with maximum choice about date, location and timing.
  • Training that is co-produced with commissioners, Community Learning Disability Teams (CLDT’s), providers, self-advocates and their families.
  • Access to expert trainers and educators including national and international experts. Many training modules are also co delivered by Experts by Experience
  • A modular approach to training topics, foundation level and then embedding theory into practice.
  • A quick and easy process to book and pay for training
  • Training that is flexible and responsive to your needs.

So why subscribe to the Joint Training Partnership?

  • The JTP programme is aligned with the expectations and requirements in the Greater Manchester’s Flexible Purchasing System and is fully supported by the Health and Social Care commissioners in Greater Manchester.
  • The programme is aligned to the Care Certificate Standards, the LD Core Skills Education and Training Framework and the Regulated Qualifications Framework
  • Membership of the JTP provides excellent evidence of workforce training and development for regulatory purposes (CQC) and for external quality organisations such as Investors in People.
  • Membership provides an opportunity to shape and influence the training programme to ensure that it continually meets your needs. This will be achieved by continual evaluation and adjustment to courses and training material, regular consultation with stakeholders, an annual training needs analysis and annual individual reviews with each member organisation.
  • Membership of the JTP provides networking opportunities and the ability to improve links with workforce development and training organisations such as Skills for Health, Skills for Care and Health Education England which are all represented on the JTP steering group.
  • The programme is flexible and responsive and will enable you to respond in a timely and cost-effective way to evolving policy, guidance, legislation and to changes in best practice.
  • Many of the training modules are co delivered by expert local practitioners from Community Learning Disability Teams; this promotes stronger links with your local teams and further opportunities to embed learning in practice
  • The JTP will provide collaborative opportunities to access external funding
